AIS «MeteoExpert» is a specialized system intended for ensuring information support of an aviation forecaster – processing and displaying of necessary meteoinformation, drawing-up forecasts of hazardous weather on the basis of computational methods, monitoring of hazardous weather, viewing and compilation of weather charts.

AIS «MeteoExpert» is based on a personal computer meeting the installation requirements of WINDOWS XP and higher operating systems, with a printer, a set of equipment for operating communication channels and connection to local network. AIS «MeteoExpert» can have access to external networks via its serial ports outfitted with telecommunications equipment or via MSC «MeteoTelex».
It is possible to complete the system taking into account the needs and possibilities of a specific airport.

Communication channels
Data can arrive via specialized networks – a network of global telecommunications system of WMO (MECOM network), a network of fixed line aviation communications (AFTN), via a satellite channel of SADIS system, via MITRA satellite channel and local computer network.
Certificates
Development of the system proceeds in accordance with modern development trends of aviation meteosupport technologies and recommendations and requirements of ICAO and WMO. Customized software (CSW) «MeteoExpert» meets the requirements of ICAO group on operation of SADIS SADISOPSG. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/sadis/software.
Installations
The first AIS «MeteoExpert» was installed in 1995. As of 1 May 2017, 60 AMC and CAMS were installed in the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
