AWOS «KRAMS-4» is designed to measure and gather meteorological information about the main parameters of the atmosphere at the airport, processing this information, the formation of meteorological messages, displaying, recording and disseminating information through communication channels to ensure the take-off and landing of aircraft.

Station AWOS «KRAMS-4» automatically measures the following parameters:

  • Atmospheric pressure;
  • Air temperature;
  • Relative humidity;
  • Wind speed and direction;
  • Height of cloud base;
  • Meteorological optical range visibility;
  • Intensity and rainfall;
  • Weather and lightning;
  • Manual input of meteorological parameters (which are not measured) is possible, as well as manual input of meteorological parameters in case of failure of sensors.

Communication channels

Regular means for data transmission is MSC «MeteoTelex»/AIS «MeteoServer». It is also possible to transmit data via the Message Switching Systems of other vendors that support the standard communication protocols and message formats (UniMAS, Consul Transmet, etc.). Supports direct data transfer to the ATIS broadcast systems from different vendors.

Completion

The central system consists of the hardware and software. Set of hardware includes: a rack standard 19 , which accommodates uninterruptible power supply, primary and backup units PC (operating system WINDOWS), a modem section for data exchange, communication section, and nodes for the local network. Printer to print the journal of aviation weather and archives.

There is the possibility to install a set of additional equipment to meet the needs and capabilities of a particular airport;

Installation

As of 1 March 2017, AWOS «KRAMS-4» were installed in 114 airdromes, heliports and helipads of the following countries: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. Among them 49 international airports, I-III category of ICAO.
