AWOS «KRAMS-4» is designed to measure and gather meteorological
information about the main parameters of the atmosphere at the airport,
processing this information, the formation of meteorological messages,
displaying, recording and disseminating information through communication
channels to ensure the take-off and landing of aircraft.
Used data
Station AWOS «KRAMS-4» automatically measures the following parameters:
- Atmospheric pressure;
- Air temperature;
- Relative humidity;
- Wind speed and direction;
- Height of cloud base;
- Meteorological optical range visibility;
- Intensity and rainfall;
- Weather and lightning;
- Manual input of meteorological parameters (which are not measured) is possible,
as well as manual input of meteorological parameters in case of failure of sensors.
Tasks
- Automatic transmission of reports to the displays and recording
means;
- Automatic generation of weather reports in the codes of METAR (SPECI),
MET REPORT (SPECIAL), ATIS and KH-01 and sending reports to the
communication lines;
- indication of the status of all sensors;
- in case of failure of the main set of equipment - the parameters
are received from a backup set of equipment;
- input of real time and storing it with an error less than ± 5 seconds
per day. The possibility of correcting the account of time;
- archiving of meteorological information for a period of not less
than 30 days;
- logging weather AB-6;
- event log of the station;
- processing information of balloon flights and printing books in
AB-6 standard;
- reception and presentation of information from automated
meteorological radar complex (AMRS) «MeteoCell» («AMRS «Meteor-MeteoCell» )
for a more accurate determination of cloud types and the presence of
hazardous aviation weather conditions at the aerodrome, registering
thunderstorm centers and transfering them to the bulletin ATIS
Communication channels
Regular means for data transmission is MSC «MeteoTelex»/AIS «MeteoServer».
It is also possible to transmit data via the Message Switching Systems
of other vendors that support the standard communication protocols and
message formats (UniMAS, Consul Transmet, etc.). Supports direct data
transfer to the ATIS broadcast systems from different vendors.
Completion
The central system consists of the hardware and software. Set of
hardware includes: a rack standard 19 , which accommodates uninterruptible
power supply, primary and backup units PC (operating system WINDOWS),
a modem section for data exchange, communication section, and nodes for
the local network. Printer to print the journal of aviation weather
and archives.
There is the possibility to install a set of additional equipment
to meet the needs and capabilities of a particular airport;
Certificates
- Certificate

Installation
As of 1 March 2017, AWOS «KRAMS-4» were installed in
114 airdromes, heliports and helipads of the following countries:
Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Moldova, Tajikistan,
Uzbekistan and Ukraine. Among them 49 international airports, I-III category
of ICAO.
